​For several years now, at the GMEM headquarters, I've been regularly practicing free improvisation with the musicians of Ensemble Grand 8, as well as with other guests.

Alongside Jean-Marc Montera, I'm a member of the Labo Band, in which every month we experiment with different playing practices with a dozen other musicians.

SOLO:

preferably using my Modular System
or using 3 turntables + 1 extra tonearm allowing to catch 2 different sounds from the same prepaired vinyl.
Moving unique vinyl units filled with field recordings, textures which have mutated with each playing, creating an organic maturation in sound that time slowly developped... Textures gradually changed with each playing taking advantage of the patina of age, elaborating an alteration in the sound and more vinyls' warm cracklings... I LOVE TO PLAY LIVE and manipulate unique vinyls with my sounds/musics, in a revolutionary way since going against the original purpose of the record which is to play a piece from its beginning to its end. Moving it faster/slower, pushing backwards-forward, I have a physical relation to my recordings and thus can create, on the spur of the moment, some new music outta my original compositions.
Unpredicted sounds and musical spices stirred up spasmodically, dancing and creating a visual performance, adding charisma/presence onstage... Assaulting turntables to take advantage of the vinyl material to fondle released sounds, raking the needle across the record's grooves, rubbing their stylus on paper, cardboard, metal to process unusual noises and textures…
